Keen on your idea of a manga type role play, obviously it would be completely independant of carpefatum.
I can get permission to use the fire station smoke room, (ie metal staircases, breezeblock walls burnt furniture) with a single phone call if thats any use?
Can also borrow some red PVC cat suits.
Anyone keen on the idea? It might be easier to use just use katanas for the time being, or non firing guns like we do in erewake?
Blank firers would be fun, with suitable ear protection?

ooh... manga... silly names and lots of shouting and ridiculous silly ninja skills with no explanation... or an explanation so complex no-one can follow it anymore.
not to mention bad translation
ah, how i love manga

also if you wanted anything with vampires in it you mays as well use the vampire masquerades larp
also a lot manga is based on scantily clad ladies fireing lasers from their hands or school girls with swords

I was thinking of something more akin to “Fist of The North Star” than vampire wars, the bonuses being fewer guns and you get to invent names for stupid attacks.
Blank firers strike me as a bad idea on a couple of counts, ear defenders being one and an arms race being another.
Depending on the agreement with the fire station that could indeed be a mega location!
The lack of scantily clad ladies is indeed a problem, though I must admit that is a comment upon my life opposed to LARP’ing. There are several ones that could be attempted; somewhere I have the BESM rules system that might be easily adaptable into a “Live” system with only minimal work. It covers most flavours of anime and has a basic rules system; if there is enough interest in either a system or a one off event I will direct some attention towards it.
As to being out there or in here, I can’t honestly comment, am I real? A dream? A nightmare? Are any of us real?

The lack of scantily clad ladies???
How can this be? Well it cant be propper manga without them! This must be fixed even if i have to go around and bung various ladies in scanty clothing and become nuku nuku my self! <ahem> i mean, ummm, i'll just be over there, sitting quietly!

We can't do blood as a roleplay. Everyone would sit around being a bit confused for 45 minutes then it'd suddenly end. Can't be as bad as Kai Doh Maru, mind.
Vampire Hunter D might be a nice basis for it - that cross between medieval and high technology, with a vast amount of ridiculous creatures thrown in for a good laugh. Scantily clad ladies in that, too
Ninja Scroll might be a good basis for one, too - the Seven Demons of Wherever is always a nice idea. We could mix it up with Seven Samurai then, too which isn't a manga, but <i>is</i> Japanese and cool, so close enough.

The good thing also being the fire station tower is secure, so no hassle with gawkers etc...
... Its been a while since I last spoke to them but I'll post as soon as I have done.
Any suggestions whos gonna run this? (if it happens) I'm up for supplying costumes. Would BB guns be better with padding and eye protection or we just use those cheap £2.00 ones which wouldnt hurt a piece of paper? Or cheap cap pistols?
How about we set in the 1970s? Flowery shirts, katanas and jump suits might be better for chicks?
Any ideas plot wise?

how many girls do you know that would take part in a larp that has them running around in skirts or pvc but if you want idea for the plot it might be an idea to make it gang based

im all for runnig around in pvc or mini skirts, well one doesnt wanna dissapoint the fans! Gang based sonds fun. as long as you base it on something good and nothing like "urotsukidoji" i'll be ok with it. When i manage to get up LOL. 1970 sounds fun too, lots of big hair and platforms, and thats just the men LOL. Should be cool
