well, im pretty good, i say this pretty good to me means i can wing it around and hit stuffs! Thats why i normally roleplay in big groups of more qualified people, they look after me!
Still im sure with a little refresher of how to fight i'll be back to my usual standard! Although sword fighting in gigantic boots and tiny skirts may make it ever so much less graceful!
Hmmmmm *ponders on costume* i have to work that one out. Was suggested thigh hig boots, not thats gonna be fun to run about in! Ummm need a good rade of my wadrobe, and its an excuse to watch more anime! Now where did i put my films......

Hey vlad what is this a dating service? The thigh high boots and pvc and mini skirts are all just practical work wear for the female assasin on the move, now put your hormones back in their little box and go play!

A dating service?? Ok im looking for a tall male who is game for a laff, not to fat but not too skinny, i dont like too many mucsles and hairy, mmm yeh hairl lol! Oh sorry tee hee, Never mind LOL. I dont own a PVC mini skirt unfortunatly anyways sowwy if i got you hopes up! Might have to be a little more covered than i once thought! Anyways this is not a dating angency,or a forum for seeing whats in my wardrobe so i guess i should write something a little more productive. Have had a little ask around and it seems your idea here may be a winner, granted as i have said before it may have to be a once a month thing due to skegness being all the way over there. But we have a few intrested peoples over here! Me obv and my ever crazy anime loving friends would love to come over, Althought may have to take a trip to tony and guy first. Have you ever noticed that who ever you are and whatever you go for in that place you get a yu-gi-oh style haircut! With a bend to the right! Also must check costing of bright hair colourings! Mmmmmmm purplie hair! On second thoughts no, i'll end up like a really odd hybread mix of sailor moon and trunks from dragonball z! Anyways im gabbling! Ta Ta for now!

I was thinking of somthing based on Shadow Run, (a table top RP game I played years ago at art college), guess folk here know it?
1970, location: some LA type hell hole, an explosion has wrecked a city street and a bunch of looters are busy trying to get into a wrecked bank, only for a bunch of orc bounty hunters to turn up with the more or less the same intention of pillaging it...
or the Police but I think orcs on bikes would be more fun... (isnt the bike squabble in Akira groovy?)
... we can add vigilantes, whatever.
Or maybe the bank is built on the site of an ancient burial chamber and something inside is hacked off about being woken up?
I can get period cars with a couple of phone calls, it would mean chipping in about £5.00 each but lets face it, Orcs blasting at you through the window of an E type Jaguar would be a real break from the norm, or leaping into a waiting A-Team Van or Batmobile? (the latter two would be pretty dear but hey)
Another thing, if i'm going to ask the fire station, what does nayone suggest we call ourselves?
As for the women, Vlad, theres nothing to stop us advertising this one unlike Wolf Nights which are impossible. And I said Shirts, not skirts.

You all seem to be going a little crazy on this. What a surprise.
Eye protection is way too much hassle. Besides, Byker Grove taught me that lesson early on, so cheapo guns with crappy plastic pellets it is, I would say.
Gang warfare seems the best way plot if you want something modern, although Shadowrun could be interesting - it just requires a lot of explaining of a lot of thigns to do sci-fi. Shadowrun was ace though.
The only problem with doing it more recent is that arguments can and will break out over hits - I mean, we're bad enough with big bits of latex that you can't miss, so crappy little pellets would be even more confusing, especially if people go gun crazy, as people are wont to do.
Period cars sounds like a bad idea - can we really be trusted with them? Props are all well and good, especially if you own them and don't mind putting them in the line of fire of a group of enthusiastic larpers - but seriously, hired cars could result in a very big bill indeed. I can see people rolling over the bonnet, scratches on the paintwork, wing mirrors getting knocked off by flailing swords... you get the idea.
Still, after knocking down all these fantastical ideas... this still sounds like a lot of fun, lol. If we're doing gang warfare we should raid Takashi Miike films (Ichi the Killer, Dead or Alive) for ideas too - although they're not manga, they're still absolutely crazy, and slightly more grounded in whats possible due to being live action. I would suggest avoiding the Ichi torture scenes in too much detail though...

Ahhhh ichi, mmm tourture scenes not so good i have to agree, but still would be excelt refrence. Both live and manga versions! Sliding over cars? not with my lack of grace and skill lol, but stil 1970 and/or gand land thingie seems the best way to go! Hope to come and have a go! i have been practiceing lool *holds up peace sign using fingers* YEY >_<
Ok maybe will have to be a little more violent than that!!

Personally I would like something Shadow Run style or Mad Max style, I don’t much like guns even feeble powered pelt guns as people tend to suddenly think they are named after colours and feel compelled to stick them in each others faces.
Also as Matt kindly pointed out people have problems noticing they have been hit with 3 feet plus of latex how are they ever going to possibly notice a 6mm piece of plastic unless it is in the eye ball?
Cars: NO! Cars are bad, cars cost lots of money and I couldn’t trust Ross with an E-Type Jag, I am not sure I would trust Ross with a moped without petrol at an LARP event. Without expanding on the impractical side of these too much, lets leave it at NO!
Now the last point, fair Elmyra I am sure is quite skill in combat, simply by pointing and saying KILL! I am fairly sure this will work as I am likely to be one of them doing the maiming

As the fair Lady Elmyra has kindly pointed out I have offered to champion her, an offer she was kind enough to accept.
This means upon my honour I will attempt to protect her fair self.
Now if anyone doubts this, we can meet with blades at a time and place of your choosing.

Yeah chaps, your right about the cars. How about using the clapped out ones that the fire station use for crash training, we could jump on them etc?
Perhaps it would be a good idea just to have a fun session, just to see how many show up, ie minimal plot run around like a bunch of 6 years olds and have a great time?
The weapons issue does bug me perhaps just katanas and fire axes would be better for now?

Katanas may work extreamly well, and we can all get sliced up in really over exagerated ways, ala many many mangas, Would work realy well, and guns dont seem to have the same effect or style as big swords now do they?
Not that im bothered any more, tee hee, i have a champion! *beems* Ahhh the perels of being a helpless young damsel! Its a tough life!
