Okay as I seem to have a little free online time at the moment, I thought I might attempt to start a cyber punk style thing. Ideally it will run on a weekly or biweekly turn around, dependant on interest and what people desire. Okay now for some background information.

The year is 2053 science has come on in leaps and bounds since the formation of first the internet, then the global web. Information can be shared, or often stolen, in a blink of the eye. Humanity has become divided more by money than by ethnic origins, with the rich and those supported by the various global corporations having the best accommodation, medical care, food and life expectancies. The poor are generally scrabbling for an existence doing whatever they are able to survive. Cybernetic enhancements are often applied to those that can afford it, be it something as simple as a data-jack or more sophisticated like reaction enhancements, cybernetic weaponry of cranial bombs.

Medicine has also improved drastically with cloned organs, gene therapy and the like permitting corporate presidents, and the few others able to afford it, to live longer and with some degree of youth. Also there are unconfirmed reports of body part harvesting from the poorer classes for those less wealthy and less scruples individuals.

Governments still exist though these organizations lack the power they did before, fearing what a mega corporation could do if they upset one or more enough. Policing, medical care, sanitation and the fire forces are mostly private corporations or subsidiaries or larger corporations, meaning that dependant on where you live and what you pay dictates the standard and level of care one has.

Food and entertainment vary in a comparable manner with the rich having high-tech three dimensional entertainment systems, real food organically grown in corporate farms while the lower classes get less and less appealing food stuffs down to rat soup or gruel, a chemically enhanced food stuff that contains everything someone needs to survive-with no interesting flavors to both someone’s pallet. Entertainment for the poor varies drastically dependant on tastes, pit fights, gun duels or the radio being examples.

Okay, if you have any questions email me at asamoth@hotmail.com characters can be almost anything plausible that fits into a world like this: ex-corporate assassins, nomad motor cyclists, gunslingers, deckers or riggers. Basically if you have a character idea, write an intro and it will work.

Tess gazes down into her coffee cup, her wandering mind permitting the chameleonic reflectors in her eyes to respond-causing her eyes to slowly alter from blue to an identical shade to the coffee. She sighed softly to herself lost in her thoughts, running through the events that had lead her to be sitting here, almost broke, hunted and with fewer and fewer friends by the passing minute. Just a couple of days ago she was working, paid more money than she believed she could spend in a life time, and now, now she had a couple of hundred in her pocket and that was about it. No luxury class apartment. No doctors to stitch her wound. Just herself and the modifications made to her body.

Tess looked up her mind hardly noticing the group huddled around another table, eyeing the small girl of mixed heritage that sat close by with something akin to hunger. She stared out of the window, her color of her eyes slowly bleeding back to their base of blue as she exhaled slowly, a string of thoughts swiftly tracked through her mind: hopefully the meeting would pay and she could make at least enough to live, if not it all ends here, maybe it should have long ago.

With another sigh Tess rose tossing a twenty onto the counter and heading towards the door, her mind trapped in a mesh of self piety and self loathing so tight she didn’t notice two of the other patrons rising and following her as she headed towards the door. Nor did she notice that that the third heading out of the fire escape at speed.

Rain lashed her face, causing a shiver to run through her svelte form before she could turn the collar up on her trench coat and pull the garment more closely around herself. She started to head towards the abandoned warehouses; one of those would work as a home or at least a roof until she could get a new identity and some money behind her.

Yep, something like that. If you want to play come up with a character and post on here and I will do some more to move the story along. There doesn't seem to be much interest but hey doesn't mean it cant be fun.

You need to sign up for an account first at http://www.carpefatum.co.uk/index.php?act=Reg&CODE=00

Any other questions can most likely be answered by the help file with a little digging around. We strongly encourage independent discovery of the facts around here, which is to say "go look yourself" ;)

This isn't an appropriate forum to be posting technical questions, either, but looking at the forums available we don't actually have anywhere for that. Can you add an extra forum for website issues, Chris?
Arguing on the Internet is like taking part in the Special Olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded.
