We decided to use traditional materials as much as possible.

Over January 2006 we put in 10 upright ash poles and began to put in internal timbers. We then planned to wattle and daub the construction.

This was the last week in February

Note the large fireplace with spit courtesy of the ratman and also the beginning sof the Wattle and Daub.

Yep - all the help I can get.

The weather has turned a little unpleasant but I would like to run a building day perhaps in two or three weeks.

One saturday we can all meet up and do some daubing. BEst leave the fireplace to the ratman as it is his own personal project.

We had a good session on Sunday.

Paul has built a lot more of our rather fine fireplace an Nick is a dab hand at the fiddly job of wattling.

If we dry out in time I may be up for something on Sunday again - I have hopefully got the roofing timbers by then and we can put them up.

I would like to get the Tarpulin ove rthe top by the weekend so the ground will begin to firm up.

Hope so - I have quite a collection we could even do fantasy fight club.

I will probably pick up around 9.30 on Sunday Morning if the weather is clement.

I think we are planning to put the roof beams on and get the tarpaulin up but we will see.

Got a lovely lamp cover from a skip, with suitable painting it will make a great chrystal ball or a Palanti (is that what its called, if not correct me please Dark Lord) you know the sort Sauron puts his eye in?

Bloody Hell! That looks like its going to be amazing. Sadly I'm not available for manual labouring as I have finals...

so I won't be back in Skegness until the summer. If there's going to be an inaugural event though, let me know.
