I am beginning to look again at the idea of the House of Erasmus - a modern day horror event - based on the real world of today. I will add more as I get it done.
Anyonbe interested let me know. If Ross would spread the word amongst his boys would be grateful.

House of Erasmus was a good idea, why did it never take off?

Don't tell me it's going to be like that Highlander 24 hour one... and if it is, can we call Tommy up again?  :D

Modern Day Characters wanted for the hous eof Erasmus - this is a modern day Horror life roleplay set in real life Britain (with supernatural happenings) so no combat, guns etc. as characters are as prone to being arrested as you and me.

The idea is it is a kind of rich mans club - with links back through the ages - who record and investigate paranormal happenings. Players will fit into this background as members of the club, and solve in character investigations etc.

If you have any ideas for a charcater the mor ein depth the bette rplease contact me or post ideas on the forum.

Hmmm... this is definitely something I will think on. For now, I merely reserve a place, as it were, or express my interest, if you prefer. I'll put up a character when I've settled on one I like that has some detail in it somewhere.

Ok, how's this...

William Price is the grandson of famed ghost-hunter Harry Price. His grandfather was famous for his work in the growing parasciences, his lack of scientific grounding and work as a magician both casting doubt on his character but giving him an unerring instinct for spotting fraud.
His most famous case, and the one which occupied much of the later part of his life, is that of Borley Rectory. Built in 1863 in a small Surrey village, it is rumoured to be on the site of an old monastery, and the ghost of a nun who walked along the so-called "Nun's Walk" was already well-known amongst the villagers. The rectory changed hands repeatedly over the years as it became more and more haunted, until in 1927 Harry Price was invited to visit by the incoming resident Revd Eric Smith. Immediately upon his arrival, the ghostly activity took a turn for the worse, with crockery and stones being thrown at the investigator. Revd Smith left after only two years.
The following incumbent, Revd Lionel Foyster, took the step of having the house exorcised after the activity became more and more destructive, including writing on the wall. Initially, the attempt seemed to work, but the ghostly manifestations began showing themselves in new ways - turning wine into ink in the church, where strange music could often be heard late at night. The activity culminated in an attack on the Foyster's child, and they left not long after.
This further psychic activity again roused the interest of Harry Price in 1937, who rented the house for himself. Along with a team of 48 investigators, he began a series of experiments in the house, logging an extraordinary amount of occurences. Perhaps the most significant was a warning during a seance session from a ghost that the rectory would burn down the day after, and a nun's body be found. Nothing happened the day after, or the day after that, until Harry Price's lease ran out later that year (1938). Captain Gregson took on the house after, and continued investigating the house. On the 27th February 1939, exactly 11 months after the warning was given to Price, an oil lamp knocked itself over in the hallway and burnt the house to the ground. Witnesses claim to have seen a nun's face pressed to the window of the top floor.
Price returned once more in 1943. Digging in the cellars, he found the jawbone of a young woman, and, believing it to be the cause of the house's troubles, gave it a full Christian burial. Sadly, the troubles did not end there, and the house continued to be haunted.
It was at this point that Harry Price realised this work would extend beyond his lifetime, and he settled down with his wife and two children in the nearby town of Sudbury, Surrey. Although he continued his investigations, they were never again on the scale he had worked on in the 30's, and he chose instead to write a further book on the rectory, The End Of Borley Rectory (1946). Two years after the book was published, Harry Price passed away suddenly.
His son, George, carried on his father's investigations initially, but his interest seemed to die away after a few years, and he instead became a mildly successful dabbler in the stock market. He had two children, both sons: Arthur Price (born 1953) and William Price (born 1959). Arthur followed his father into business, but William instead became inspired by his grandfather's legacy. Beginning anew the investigations of the now deserted Borley Rectory, despite protests from his father, he became more and more involved in the paranormal world. After finding an old letter down in the cellar of the rectory, which explained the story of the nun, William was contacted by the House of Erasmus, and joined its ranks in 1986. Since then, he has continued investigating matters of a more ghostly nature, inline with his grandfather's studies. Although he greatly respects his grandfather (as he does most people; he is very much a throwback to the old gentlemanly traditions), he has studied a wider range of scientific theory, and generally has a greater grounding in scientific fact. His father's earnings in the stock market, passed on in part to William in 1997 after his death, have recently freed William from constraints of time and money and allowed him to invest himself more fully in the House of Erasmus and his paranormal investigations. It is at this point that we now find William: a 45 year old gentleman with long experience in the paranormal and a fierce loyalty to the House of Erasmus.

Do. I'll make certain I can be there. I'm working on a character.
- He shall be the first against the wall come the  revolution!
- Then at least in death he shall achieve the modishness that escapes him in life...
