Warhammer - army building campaign
« on: June 11, 2007, 10:28:46 PM »
Finally the details of the campaign we are planning.

We will meet once a month and play a round robin series of battles.

The first battle will be 300 points and be in early july.

600 points August etc.

We will play until about 2100 points.

The deal is you are only allowed to spend £20 a month (although you may buy your figures from any source) to build your collection, and you cannot game with unpainted troops.

Currently: Chris Inkley Lizardmen
Paul Kelly Tomb Kings of Khemri
              Alex Keenan Wood elves
              Christine Brumpton Skaven

Still waiting on finalisation from Martin Johnson and Dean Simpson

Anyone else interesed please reply by the end of the week.

Chris

Sounds like the sort of thing I would like to try with the warhammer ancients and shield wall (viking age) rules sometime. -_-

I was just wandering I have a small dark elf army but not to sure about the rules and would need teaching a little bit but would it be ok if I joined in with this hole thing???? Or found out bit more about it. I got them a while back but never got round to playing the game! I have a dark elf sorceress, a dark rider, some dark elf crossbowers and sworman a flag bearer 3 dark elf witches and 2 dark elf harpies. But im really up for getting going with it again looked fun but just never got round to doing it.  ^_^ cheers Ryan

Can anyone confirm that the battle for skull pass rulebook contains the complete 7th edition rules? It's called 'pocket sized' which I'm taking to mean 'no-frills' as the 7th ed rulebook itself is 288 pages as against BfSP's 177 pages.

If it is a complete version of the rules I can avoid paying £20-30 for the new hardback rulebook completely padded out with 'Mappes of Ye Olde Worlde' and instead pick up the BdSP book on Fleabay for the bargain price of £1 + p&p.

Found out myself. You can indeed get the full 7th ed rules in the BfSP box, GW have cunningly also numbered  the sections identically as in the big shiny rulebook. It is a pity I don't collect Goblins or Dwaffs though or I'd be tempted to go for the whole box instead of pikeying around after just the books.

Just like to point out that after my trouncing I came back with three wins in the 600 point battles.

Dean still won 2
Rob won 1
Christine only fought one and lost 1

Paul and Alex both fought 2 - I think Alex won 1 and Paul lost both of his but I am not sure.

900 point battle hopefully a week on Saturday (17th?)

We will see - do I go for another 60 skinks or a ategadon and skink priest? choices choices

Month four (???) of the campaign 1200 points to be held at Irby village hall on Saturday 5th April at 1.00 p.m.

Usual cost of £2.00 ish to cover the hire of the hall. - Any new players contact Chris or Dean and bring a 1200 point army.

We will probably do a few board games as well so come along and support.

Could a few of the Warhammer players bring their 900 point lists as well by any chance? I missed that month and I'm not sure I can catch up without fielding an incredibly tooled up Alter Noble or something equally cheeseworthy.

After missing many months - month five of the warhammer campaign (1500 points now if you'd forgotten) - will be taking place at the wildly exciting Irby Village Hall on Saturday 30th August - meet up for around 1.00 to get trounced by Dean - sorry I mean have a damned good battle.
See you all there - now how do i spend 300 points to give my self a fighting chance against the Cackling Dwarf?

Damn- going to be up north that weekend! Can I leave a skaven tunnelling team to randomly pop up in other people's battles? ...aw!...and the female rat ogre had just touched up her nail varnish.
Have fun you lot - and trounce those dwarves!
